Hartland, VT- Dennis John Russell, 59, Passed away Tuesday April 23, 2019 at his home in Hartland after a short and hard fought battle with cancer.
Dennis was born September 30, 1959 in Windsor, VT the son of John and Janice (Stimpson) Russell. He attended Middlebury High School in Middlebury VT and graduated from Mascoma High School class of 1977 in Enfield, NH. He went to work for his parents at the Russell's Variety Store in Enfield. He later worked at Split Ball Bearing in Lebanon. Dennis went to work as a Carpenter at Shepard's Construction before working With Dave Hood which some jokingly called "Open Can Construction". He worked odd jobs until he could no longer work and had to retire due to his health.
Dennis loved hunting, Fishing and his hermit life style. He also loved to get together with friends and family for games of cribbage and poker or Horse shoes. Music was another of his passions, he could sing the words to many songs and even wrote a few himself. Though he was a quiet man, he had a great sense of humor and was in his younger years known as the life of the party.
Dennis is predeceased by his parents in 2016.
He is survived by a son Scott Russell of Enfield; a daughter Jessica Belisle and husband Matt of Canaan, NH; 2 grandchildren Alexis and Dominick and three sisters Rhonda Lamica and husband Arthur, Vickie Lamica and husband Wayne all of Hartland, VT and Roxie Lemieux and husband Roland of Canaan, NH.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the Hartland Village Cemetery in Hartland, VT at 11am. Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction has been entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com
