Dennis M McCarthy died at his home on March 6, 2010, with his family around him. He was born on November 8, 1949, in Hanover, New Hampshire, middle son of Eugene and Margaret (Agan) McCarthy. He grew up in White River Junction where he spent his early life.
After graduating from Hartford High School in 1967, he attended Northhampton College and Western New England College where he graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Accounting. An extremely hardworking and dedicated employee, Denny spent the first part of his career working in accounting before transitioning into the fuel/propane industry where he most recently worked as a Transportation Manager for DCP Midstream in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
On May 15, 1976, he married Marie Foley at St. Anthony's parish in White River Junction. Their first few years they lived in Hartland, Vermont, before moving to Wilder where they spent the remainder of their married life, raising their two children, Ryan and Brigid and caring for Marie's father.
Denny, not one to sit idle for very long, enjoyed many activities including cutting and splitting his own wood, precisely maintaining a garden, faithfully watching and supporting the Red Sox, keeping his Friday night date with his wife, shopping regularly at LLBean, watching his children's sporting events, and most recently, avidly following his son's coaching career and team in Albany, New York. In 2006, he made room for another family member; a lovable, black lab named Murphy who brought him many happy and comical moments.
Denny is survived by his wife, Marie, his son, Ryan of Albany, NY, and his daughter, Brigid of Wilder. Also surviving him are his brothers John and wife Donna of Londonderry, New Hampshire, and Jim and wife Chelle of Danville, Vermont, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
