Hartland, VT - Delight L. Thibault Hood, 58, died Friday September 17th at her home in Hartland surrounded by family.
She was born January 23, 1952 in Coaticook, Quebec a daughter of Paul S. and Mona (Riendeau) Molloy. After graduating from Canaan Memorial High School she worked as a telephone operator in Canada and later assisted her father in operating the Norton Country Store. She also worked for a time as a teacher's aid at St. Albert's School in West Stewartstown, NH. Delight was proud to be the first female certified logger in the state of Vermont, as she operated the family logging business after her first husband's death.
She was a very dedicated citizen of Norton and enjoyed serving her community in many ways including volunteering at the Norton Village School and serving on the Norton School Board. In recent years she loved spending winters with her husband in Fort Meyers Florida.
She is predeceased by her parents, her first husband Gaetan Thibault and her West Highland Terrier Shamrock.
She is survived by her husband Lee Hood of Hartland, a son Steve Thibault and wife Kyla of Norton, VT; a daughter Josee Riendeau and husband Marc of Goffstown, NH; two step sons Todd Hood and wife Michele of Hartland and Darrell Hood of Windsor; five grandchildren and a sister Shirley Flores and husband John of Waldorf, MD.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, VT Monday from 6-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 1PM at St. Bernard's Church in Norton with burial following in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
