David C. Prevo, 73, a lifelong resident of Windsor, passed away Tuesday morning, June 25, surrounded by his family at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon.
He was born May 30, 1946 in Windsor, the son of Clarence A. and Eleanor (Hicks) Prevo. He received his schooling in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1964. He graduated from Keene State College in Keene, NH earning his Bachelor of Education Degree in 1969. David taught at Thetford Academy before working at the family business, Prevo's Radio and Appliance Store in Windsor for many years. He was later employed with Verizon as a central office technician until his retirement in 2007.
He was a member of the Windsor Elks Lodge #1665, the Sons of the American Legion at Post #25, and Old South Church. He was also a member of the New England Antique Radio Club and was fond of restoring vintage automobiles and radios, as well as doing home improvements. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-two years, Kathryn (McDowell) Prevo of Windsor, two daughters, Leanne Rodd and her husband, Tom of Arlington, MA and Jennifer McDonald and her husband, Brian of Westford, MA, four grandchildren, Daniel and Elise Rodd and Brady and Noah McDonald, one brother, James Prevo and his wife, Dianne of Richmond, VT, one sister, Lynda Tucker and her fiancé, Terry Radke of Bedford, NH, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held, Sunday, June 30 at 3:00 PM at the Old South Church in Windsor, with Interim Pastor, Rev. Karen Lipinczyk, officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow in the church hall. Private committal services will be held at the convenience of the family at Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.
