Bradford, NH – David A. Learned, 82, died Monday, December 30, 2024, at Cedar Hill Health Care Center in Windsor, VT. He was born in Concord, NH, on March 15, 1942, to Richard and Helen (Fredette) Learned.

Shortly after graduating high school in 1960, Dave started his long-lasting career with the US Coast Guard. While stationed in Florida in 1965, he went on a blind date with Marcia Eckman in Pompano Beach. That was the first night of the many years they would spend together. The coast guard took them to many places, including Bermuda, Alabama and Tennessee. Amid their travels, they started a family together, having three beautiful daughters. He retired in 1991 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer.

After his honorable discharge from the coast guard, his love for New Hampshire brought him back to the area. They settled near Squam Lake for a while where he was a Marine patrol officer, until landing in Rumney.  There, he was active in the community, serving as a Sergeant on the Rumney Police department, and being a member of the American Legion.

Dave loved to show off his hard work, having a collection of motorcycles, beamers, and of course, his RV, all of which he was very proud of. In his free time, he was an outdoorsman. He particularly enjoyed skiing in the beautiful New Hampshire mountains. He was also known to love and care for every animal he came across.

He is survived by his three daughters Shawna (Rodney) Kirkby of Palm Harbor, FL, Sandy (Lisa) Boeving-Learned of Pittsburgh, PA and Cyndi (Mike) Cissell of Oldsmar, FL; four grandchildren Ashlea (Chris) Gregson of FL, Brittani (Nick) McAllaster of PA, Kyle (Kennedi) Cissell of FL, and Kaitlyn Cissell of FL; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Beverly Nemetz of Strafford, NH.

He is preceded in death by his wife Marcia and his bother Richard.
