CORNISH, NH

Darren M. Downing, 20, a resident of Cornish passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, March 29, at his home in Cornish.

He was born April 7, 1998 in Lebanon, NH the son of Daryle and Christina (White) Downing. He received his schooling through Cornish Elementary and graduated from Hartford High School in 2016. He was currently employed by Asplundh Tree Service. He enjoyed cutting wood and making things out of wood, bowling, maple sugaring and tinkering on his truck.

Survivors include his parents, Daryle and Christina Downing, his brother, Nathan Downing, all of Cornish, his maternal grandparents, Dennis and Theresa White of Ascutney, aunts and uncles including, Martin and Carol Downing of St. Johnsbury, VT, Robert Downing of Texas, and Dennis White, Jr. of Newport, NH, many cousins and his beloved dog, Sarah. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Martin and Lynda Downing of Cornish.

Public visitation will be held Friday evening, April 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 6 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Meriden, NH. Rev. Dewey Jones, Pastor, will officiate. Private committal services will be held at a later date at the convenience of his family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hartford Area Career and Technology Center at 1 Gifford Road, White River Jct., VT 05001 for the benefit of the natural resources program for forestry or earth moving equipment or maintenance as those were Darren's favorite two aspects of the program.
