Darcey A. Newcity

Sharon, VT – Darcey A. Newcity, 66, died Monday July 27, 2026, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH following a two-year battle with cancer.

Darcey was born July 25, 1960, in Hanover, NH, a son of Carley R. and Nora J. (Laplant) Newcity. After graduating from Otter Valley High School in Brandon, he attended Castleton College for a time before returning to the family farm in Sharon, VT. As an avid lover of motorcycles and a natural salesman, Darcey loved working as a sales rep at Jasmin Motorsports in Hartford for several years. After they closed he worked at various jobs until becoming disabled due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Darcey was one of kind. His unique perspective on the ways of the world was profound and made you reconsider your views on anything and everything. Darcey loved to party hard with his brothers and friends, and especially enjoyed rocking out to the Grateful Dead, a good fireworks show, riding motorcycles or softball tournaments when he was younger. He also loved to kick back and relax, catching a Red Sox or Giants game, time with his family at the waterfall, tubing or kayaking down the river or a big family BBQ. No matter what he was doing, it was certain that he loved his family, especially his mother. His family will miss him endlessly and will never forget everything he was and is to them.

He was greeted by those he loved including his father, Carley, his nephew Nick, and his dog Manny, who is probably riding on the back of his four-wheeler.

Darcey leaves his mother, Nora, of Sharon; brothers, Gaylord Newcity and Lance Newcity both of Hartford as well as Shawn Newcity and Victor Newcity both of Hartland; nieces Olivia and Ashley, nephews Shawn and Jake; his dogs Daisy and Pippin and too many friends to mention.

A Memorial BBQ will be held at the family farm in Sharon on August 15.
