Hartford , VT - Daniel T. Smith, Jr., 85, died on October 26 at the Jack Byrne Center.

He was born in Post Mills on April 27, 1935 to Daniel T. Smith, Sr. and Sylvia Waterman Smith. He moved to Norwich at the age of 3 and attended schools in Norwich, graduating from Hanover High School. He served in the United States Army and then began his long building career. Dan started his own business, Dan T. Smith Builder in 1983. He was also a Master Plumber and Electrician.

He is survived by his children, Debra, Cheryl, Dan and John. and his grandchildren Daneryl and Courtland, and great grandchildren Caleb and Ryan, his sister Betty and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, his 3 brothers, Carl, Kenneth, and Fred, and his wife Trudy.

Services will be private.
