Daniel V. Osmer
Strafford, VT – Daniel V. Osmer, 81, died Friday February 26th at Hanover Terrace Healthcare in Hanover, NH.
He was born July 18, 1928 in Hartland, VT a son of Vern and Gladys (Ladeau) Osmer. He attended school in Hartland and later at the Vermont Agricultural School in Randolph, VT. Dan worked farming for a time and later worked in construction and trucking including in Oregon and locally at Cooley Construction in Burlington and at Clifford Loam and Gravel in West Hartford. He was married to Eufemia Lara in 1991 and they have lived in Strafford, VT for the past sixteen years. Dan enjoyed working and has recently cut firewood and operated a rubbish route in the Upper Valley.
He also enjoyed being in the outdoors especially maple sugaring and gardening. In his younger years he enjoyed dancing and gatherings with his friends.
He is predeceased by a son Rodney Osmer and is survived by his wife of Strafford; four sons Richard Osmer of Salem, NH, Randy Osmer of Sharon, VT, Danny Osmer of White River Jct., VT and Mitchell Osmer of Oregon; a daughter Deana Stone of Oregon; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; three brothers Ronald Osmer of Chicago, IL, Harold Osmer of Reading, VT and David Osmer of Strafford, VT as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT Sunday February 28th from 3-6PM.
