Weathersfield, VT – Daniel S. Merrill, 61, a long-time resident of Weathersfield, died on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at his home. He was born on July 28, 1961, in Brattleboro, VT to David C. and Jeanne A. (Jenks) Merrill and proudly served aboard the USS Samuel Eliot Morison (FFG-13) while in the US Navy.  Dan and Margie were together for 35 years, marrying on January 1, 2005, near their home in Weathersfield where the two spent many happy years together. They shared a love of rural life, Jeeps, and the fun of mud runs.  He dearly loved their dogs who were always eager to greet him when he came home or go along for a Jeep ride.  A damn fine finish carpenter, Dan's skilled work was highly sought after.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Merrill; a brother, David Merrill, Jr.; other extended relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Bruce Merrill.

A service will be planned for later this summer.
