WINDSOR, VT- Cynthia "Cindy" C. Smith, 68, of Windsor Vermont died Saturday November 27, at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Healthcare Center in Windsor.

Cindy was born February 16, 1942 in Brattleboro, the daughter of Robert and Bessie (Johnson) Smith. As a young girl she moved with her family to Windsor and later graduated from Windsor High School in 1960. She later graduated from Castleton State College in 1964 with a degree in teaching

She began her career as a teacher in Hazardville, Connecticut and later moved to St. Cloud, Florida where she taught for 33 years until her retirement. She returned to Windsor in 2008 residing at the Davis House.

Cynthia was very active at the Episcopal Church of St. Luke and St. Peter in St. Cloud. She also had a love of animals, especially dogs and cats.

Cindy is survived by her brother Gardner Smith and wife Cathee of Reading, VT; a niece Jody Hickey and husband Chad of Cut Bank, MT; a nephew Matthew Smith and wife Sheri of Reading, VT; a nephew Thomas "Woody" Smith and wife Jennifer of Lincoln, CA; two grand nieces and two grand nephews; and many cousins.

Friends may call Wednesday December 1st from 6-8PM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. A memorial service will be held in St. Cloud at a later date.
