White River Jct., VT - Courtney Louise Hill, 26, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, November 20, at her home in White River Junction, Vermont. She was born June 21, 1993, the daughter of Scott Davis Hill and Dora Jean "Dodi" (Spear) Hill.
She grew up in Norwich, Vermont and graduated from Hanover High School in 2012. Courtney worked at the meat department of Dan & Whit's in Norwich, Vermont while she was in high school and then for a time after graduation. She was a loved day care provider at World of Discovery Child Care in White River Junction, Vermont. Later she worked as a server at Salt Hill Pub in Hanover, New Hampshire, and most recently as a cashier at the Hanover Co-Op.
She started dating her long time companion, Peter Henry Ryan, while he was attended college in Lyndonville, Vermont. They have been together for the past seven years and shared a home in White River Junction, Vermont.
Courtney and Peter enjoyed checking out new restaurants, tabletop gaming, and attending events by the Society of Creative Anachronism. She was a talented artist and amateur jeweler who enjoyed cooking, baking, and craft beer with Peter and their friends.
She is survived by her long time companion and best friend, Peter Ryan, her parents Scott Hill and Dodi Spear-Hill of Bradford, Vermont, her sister Shannon Patricia Hill, and Shannon's partner Ian Heins of Norwich, Vermont, her grandparents Pat and Ron Young of New York, Jane Spear of New Hampshire, Fred and Marjorie Hill of MI, Helen Hill of SD, Sally Smith of NY, as well as several uncles, aunts, and cousins. She was predeceased by grandparents, Jim and Louise Spear.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, November 30 th from 2 - 4 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, Vermont. Everyone is invited to a reception at the Hanover Parks and Recreation, 48 Lebanon Street, Hanover, NH immediately following calling hours. A life celebration will be held at a later date in the Summer of 2020.
