Weathersfield, VT – Clifford Leroy Spaulding, Jr., ("Bud"), 89, died on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at his home.

Bud was born on February 13, 1936, in Springfield, VT, the son of Clifford and Arlette (Smith) Spaulding. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1954. Bud worked as a carpenter and painter in construction throughout the Upper Valley and devoted many years to caring for his parents.

Bud will be remembered for his strong faith. He was a humble and simple man who served God through his actions. He found joy in hiking, hunting, fishing, and simply appreciating the beauty of "God's Country" which he captured with his many paintings and poems. Above all, he cherished his family including his beloved nieces and great-nieces, "his girls."

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Evelyn Woodward, and his nephew, Terry Woodward.

He is survived by three nieces: Jeni Woodward Assmann (Tom) of Milwaukee, WI; Larke L. Mor of West Bend, WI; and Kelly Schmidt of Leesburg, FL; grand-nieces Kari Fonte (Jay) of Islamorada, FL; and Casey Amoroso (Tom) of Lake Mills, WI; and great-great-nephews Dominic and Teddy Amoroso.
