White River Jct., VT- Clara E. Savery, 71, died on Sunday, July 9, 2023, surrounded by her family in White River Junction.
Clara was born June 4, 1952, in Lebanon, NH, a daughter of Wilbur and Mattie (Ellsworth) Gusha. She grew up in Union Village and attended the one room schoolhouse before attending Thetford Academy. She worked for a time at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover as a discharge attendant before staying home to raise her family.
Clara was a member of the Riverbank Church, the Rebekah's Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary, all in White River Junction. She enjoyed working with her hands and creating diamond art, spending time with her companion and therapy dog Bella. But her greatest joy came from spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Clara is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Sonny Gusha; and two sisters, Grace Smith and Mary Gusha.
She is survived by a son, Rodney Parker, of Oregon; two daughters, Kelly E. Savery of Strafford, and Tammy Osmer of Harker Heights, TX; a stepdaughter, Theresa Powell of Texas; two brothers, Chuck Gusha of Virginia and Peter Gusha of Springfield, VT; a sister, Stella George of White River Jct.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, July 15, 2023 in the Post Mills Cemetery in Post Mills, VT, with a gathering to follow at Clara's home.
