Chris T. Armen, DDS, passed away peacefully in his Lebanon, NH home on March 19 ^th , 2023, at 93 after a long illness. Dr. Armen is survived by his wife Janet of 72 years, an anniversary they celebrated together with family two days before he passed. Dr. Armen is also survived by his four children, Sheila Armen (Shelly Yusko) of Quechee, VT, Thomas Armen (Kim Armen) of New London, NH, Jennifer Armen (Corey Noble) of Hendersonville, NC, and Timothy Armen, of Hartland, VT; one sister, Diana Cowles of Lincoln, MA; two grandchildren, James Bolen and Adam Bolen; the family Pug, Jillie; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Dr. Armen practiced dentistry in Newport, NH and Lebanon, NH for 37 years. He served as president of the NH Dental Society, was a member on the Northeast Region Board of Dental Examiners, often serving as Chief Examiner, and was honored as a Fellow by the International College of Dentists. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Thomas A. Evans Institute of Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania. After graduating from Mt. Hermon preparatory school, he graduated Valedictorian of the Clark School of Hanover and completed his undergraduate work at the University of Vermont. He served in the US Army during the Korean conflict, serving for three years as Company Commander at Camp Rucker, AL and achieving rank of First Lieutenant being honorably discharged in 1954.

Chris loved traveling the world with his bride Janet. They visited many European countries, with one of their favorite excursions traveling by ship through the Norwegian Fjords and venturing down the Rhine River by canal boat. He did extensive philanthropy both in providing dental services to the underprivileged as well as volunteering over many years on boards, including the town of Newport's School Board and Budget Committee. Upon moving to Lebanon after retirement, he volunteered with the town's Planning Board. He spent 30 years as a Newport Lion and spent many cold days ringing the Salvation Army Bell during the holiday season. He was a longtime member of the American Legion, from the time of his Army discharge until his passing. Chris will be remembered for his many hobbies, including coin collecting and wood working. He was an avid golfer and skier, and enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas, Foxwoods, and Aruba to belly up to the Blackjack table.
