WINDSOR, VT
Chester C. "Chet" Lapine, 95, a resident of Windsor, and a former longtime resident of Hartland, passed away Monday morning, October 13, at the Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, NH.
He was born September 28, 1919 in Hartland, VT the son of Frank and Minnie (Redman) Lapine. He received his schooling in Hartland. He married Victoria Chambers on August 1, 1971 in Windsor and they were later divorced. As a young man he work on the Foster Wright farm in Hartland and was later employed at the former Bailey Feed and Grain Store in Hartland for several years, and later at Artesian Wells in Ascutney. He most recently was employed for the Windsor Highway Department until his retirement in 1982.
He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters, Margaret Barton, Florence Copeland and Ruth Hathorn, and by two brothers, Andrew Lapine and Edward Lapine.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will be no formal funeral services. A private burial will be held in the Hartland Village Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hartland Volunteer Fire Department at PO Box 403, Hartland, VT 05048.
