Windsor, VT- Cheryl Ann Mason, 74, died Thursday, September 5, 2024, with family at her side in Lebanon, NH.
Cheryl was born June 28, 1950, in Putney, VT, a daughter of Alois and Carrie (Nelson) Wood. She attended the Bellows Falls Regional Schools. Cheryl was married to Charles E. Mason on August 17, 1968, in Windsor, VT where they made their home. She stayed home while their children were young, before going to work at the State Street School in Windsor as a Paraeducator. In 1991 she and Charlie went back to Windsor High School and together earned their GED. She took such pride in her work and she enjoyed working with the kids. In 2004 she was forced to retire due to her health.

Cheryl was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary all in Windsor. She attended the Cavendish Baptist Church with her family. She enjoyed shopping, reading, word searches, seek & find games and telling stories. She enjoyed spending time out in public where she would constantly hear former students yell out "Hey Mrs. Mason!" Christmas was always a special time in the house, it was her favorite holiday. They would always be all decked out. She had a special place in her heart for her beloved cat Missy.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her husband Charlie, and a sister Dottie LePitre. She is survived by two sons, Charles Mason (Tina) of Windsor, Shane Mason (Nancy) of Swanzy, NH; a daughter Sherri Mason Withington (Brett) of Canaan, NH; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Amy Mason of Windsor; and a brother Wayne Wood (Niki) of FL.

A private graveside service will be held in the Ascutney Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Knight Funeral Home in Windsor has been entrusted with arrangements.
