White River Jct., VT - Charles W. Lowell, Sr., 82, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010, at his home in White River Jct., VT.
He was born December 30, 1927, in Barre, VT, the son of Charles A. and Florence (Menard) Lowell. He grew up in Bellows Falls, graduating from Vermont Academy and later joined the Marines. On January 1, 1951, he married the love of his life, Patricia A. Bacon, who passed away on November 17, 1991. Together they started their life, raising three children.
Charlie worked as a carpenter most of his life. He always said if he got something accomplished each day then it was a good day! He built his own home and was blessed to be able to live there until he passed. He loved his music, enjoyed playing his guitar, and most Tuesday nights he could be found in Bradford dancing with the Connecticut Valley Swingers. He loved his garden, and his zucchini relish was a favorite of everyone.
He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Robert and Thomas Lowell, and sisters Geraldine Day and Genevieve Runnals.
He leaves his children, Diana and Duane Murphy of Taylorsville, NC; Deborah and Paul Grandmont of South Hadley, MA; and Charles W. and Kathy Lowell, Jr. of Sharon, VT; grandchildren Robbie, Pattie, Allison, Randy, Dan, Tara, Stacey, and Katelyn and their spouses. He also leaves many great-grand children as well as his brother Richard Lowell, sister Gertie Golec, sister-in-law Johanna Bacon, brother-in-law Jesse Bacon. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews who all say he was their favorite Uncle.
