Obituary
Bethel, VT – Catherine I. Merrill, 86, died Sunday August 12, 2012 at the Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct., VT.
She was born March 29, 1926 in Dracut, MA a daughter of Henry and Clara (Bingham) Farrell. Catherine attended school in Lowell, MA before moving to Bethel, VT. While in Bethel she met Edwin Merrill and they were married in 1946. Mrs. Merrill worked at American Wire, Rice Plywood Mill and then for many years at GW Plastic until retiring. She has resided at Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct. for the past five years.
Catherine enjoyed working in her yard and even in her later years, was great at Nintendo games and jigsaw puzzles
She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin in 1982 as well as four sisters, Elizabeth Burnett, Ursula Therriault, Cecelia Paronto and Mary Farrell and three brothers, Joseph Farrell, Henry Farrell Jr., and William Farrell.
She is survived by a son Edwin Merrill Jr. and his wife Maxine of Randolph, VT; a daughter Edith Henry of Warwick, RI; six grandchildren, Kathy, Karen, Katrina, John, Ray and Ryan, many great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT Wednesday from 6-7PM with a memorial service following at 7PM.
