White River Jct. – Carol G. Sears, 75, died at home Sunday, June 24, 2012, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Sharon, VT., on June 20, 1937, the eldest child of Carroll S. and Marion (Whitcomb) George. She was raised in West Hartford, VT., and graduated from Hartford High School, Class of 1955.
She was married to Allston J. Sears on September 3rd, 1955 in Quechee. They lived in White River and West Hartford.
She was a homemaker; a job at which she excelled. She worked for Sugarbush Farms and as a rural route mail carrier. She also worked at Dartmouth College until her retirement in 1998.
She enjoyed her cat, "Baby Cat", camping, cooking, ice cream and reading but, most of all, she treasured time spent with her family. She was a wonderful sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and aunt.

She is survived by two sons, John and his wife Janet of Sharon, Don and his wife Peggy of Tunbridge; one daughter, Sandra Daigle and her husband Roy of Wilder; two cherished grandsons, Ben Sears and his wife Karoline of Bennington, VT., Logan Sears of Westminster and Sharon, VT.; three step-granddaughters, Amanda, Carmen and Katrina; a brother, Daniel George of Wilder; a sister, Carlean Follett, of Wilder; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband on March 12, 1999; her brother David on December 3, 1990 and her mother and father.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held at the Greater Hartford United Church of Christ in Hartford Village, Friday, June 29, 2012 at 10AM. Burial will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Knights Funeral Home of White River Jct., VT.
