North Hartland, VT- Carol Lee Olsen, 81, died Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Lebanon Center Genesis HealthCare in Lebanon, NH.

Carol (a.k.a. "Anarka") was born January 1, 1943, in New York, NY, a daughter of Charles and Elvera (D'Onofrio) Kolbeck.

She grew up on Long Island and graduated from Hicksville High School in 1961. Carol moved from Long Island in the 70's to the Upper Valley where she worked at Dartmouth College and Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL). She also worked with her late husband at Wally's Appliance Service for many years. Carol especially enjoyed traveling and exploring beautiful Sedona, AZ as well as tending to her garden and canning vegetables every year.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Wally Olsen. She is survived by two sons, Charley Vella and wife Mary of Canaan, NH and Peter Vella and wife Ann of Sebastian, FL; two daughters, Cathy Vella Cole and her husband Steven of Walpole, Mass and Laura Vella of Corinth, NY; a sister, Linda Sumner and husband George of Hobe Sound, FL; one nephew, George Sumner of Palm City, FL as well as nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction assisted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com.
