IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Moore
Jarvis
December 25, 1945 – April 28, 2023
Windsor, Vermont – Carol Moore Jarvis, 77, died peacefully with her loving husband and daughter by her side, Friday morning, April 28, 2023 at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH. She was born December 25, 1945 in Basking Ridge, NJ the only daughter of seven children to William Robert and Anna (Hermann) Moore.
Carol grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Ridge High School in 1964. She then moved to Vermont, making her home in Chester, where she worked as a bookkeeper for Chester Building Supply. It was in Vermont where she met an electrician named Norbert J. Jarvis Jr. The sparks flew and Carol and Norbert "Nobby" were married in June of 1976. They then purchased property in Weathersfield and made their home there with their daughter, Michelle. They would reside there for over 25 years, at times raising goats, chickens, and other small farm animals. Later, they would relocate to Windsor.
Both Carol and Nobby were certified EMTs and began serving their community as volunteers on the rescue squad. Carol was later asked to serve as the Director of the Weathersfield Ambulance Service, a position she held for over twelve years. During this time, she also apprenticed and earned her credentials, under the tutelage of her husband, to become a VT Licensed Electrician. For many years, she worked side by side with Nobby at his business, Jarvis Wiring. When she began to step away from the electrical trade she worked as a Customer Service Representative for Claire Murray in Ascutney, VT and also owned her own Curves Franchise.
But it wasn't just work for Carol and Nobby. They both loved horses and were very active in the area horse shows and competitions. She was a talented Western pleasure rider and took many awards throughout the years. Together they would travel around competing in western riding and driving events throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. She enjoyed coaching, alongside Nobby, the local Little League Baseball team. Following their retirement, Carol was active with the Bugbee Senior Center in White River Jct., VT.
She and Nobby loved traveling to NASCAR events – visiting many racetracks on the east coast, her favorite driver was undoubtedly Tony Stewart. In the winter they would travel to Florida for a few weeks, usually coinciding with a race! They took several cruises to Alaska where she enjoyed seeing the glaciers, bears, and husky dogs.
Carol was predeceased by her parents and her six brothers, Bob, George, Norman, Danny, Dick, and David Moore. She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Nobby; her daughter Michelle Eglintine of Weathersfield, VT; her 2 grandchildren Gordie and Heidi, as well as many nieces and nephews.
