Springfield, VT - Carol Jane Day, 79 formerly of West Lebanon, NH, died on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in Springfield, VT. She was born at home on October 31, 1942 in Bethel, VT to Harold and Viola (Smith) Ballou and grew up in So. Royalton, VT where she graduated from So. Royalton High School in 1961. After graduating, she worked at National Life in Montpelier, VT . She was married to Calvin H. Day on September 15, 1962 and they settled in Sharon, VT where they raised their two daughters, farmed and owned and operated Day's Slaughterhouse for several years. She loved to spend time and travel with her family, knit, read, walk, and bake.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sherry L. Stickney and son-in-law, Thomas A. Stickney of Thetford Center, VT, Sheila L. Kendall of Goshen, NH, three grandsons, Thomas C. Stickney and granddaughter-in-law, Stephenie R. Hareld of N. Thetford, VT, Dana L. Kendall and Jeremy L. Kendall of Strafford, VT two great grandsons Carter R. Stickney and Callen T. Stickney; three brothers, Phillip, Paul & Harvey Ballou, one sister, Catherine Mousley and several nieces and nephews.
