WINDSOR, VT
Carol Ann Best, 70, a longtime resident of Windsor, left her earthly life to join the angels in heaven on Friday evening, February 20 at her home in Windsor, surrounded by her family.
She was born September 12, 1944 in Windsor the daughter of Harold and Dorothy (Morse) Clark. She received her schooling in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1962. She married Gordon E. Best in Windsor on November 10, 1962. She was employed at the former Super Duper Grocery Store and later at Cumming's Market both in Windsor. Carol had most recently been employed as a Para Professional by the Hartland School District at the Hartland Elementary School for several years until her retirement in 2006.
She was a member of the Plainfield Community Baptist Church in Plainfield, NH and was a longtime Avon sales representative. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and was fond of spending time at the family cottage on Lake Salem in Derby, VT. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, camping and the Windsor community. She loved her golden retriever, "Zoey".
She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Gary Clark in 1968.
Survivors include her husband of fifty two years, Gordon E. Best of Windsor, two daughters, Kathy Shaban and her husband, Christopher of Claremont, NH and Karen Davis and her husband, William of Windsor, four grandchildren, Kyle Shaban and Courtney Shaban of Claremont, and Alexis Davis and Lauren Davis of Windsor, two sisters, Leona Therrien of Windsor and Brenda King of Hinsdale, NH, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, February 25 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 26 at 11:00 AM at the Plainfield Community Baptist Church in Plainfield. The Rev. Robert Fisher, Interim Pastor will officiate. A reception for family and friends will follow in the church hall. Committal services will be held in the spring in the Hartland Village Cemetery.
