Wilder, VT - Carol Virginia Alexander Kelton, 73, died in the arms of her loving husband on Tuesday, April 30, 2019.

She was born April 10, 1946 in Hanover, NH the daughter of Frederick and Ramona (Hathorn) Alexander.  Carol graduated from Hartford High School Class of 1964 before attending the University of Vermont.  After her marriage to Alfred Kelton in 1968 they lived in New York City for a time before moving to Hills Beach, ME where they began their family together.  Shortly after their children were born the family returned to the White River Jct. area where they have lived since.  Carol stayed at home, caring for her children until they were in school and then began teaching kindergarten.  She loved her job as a kindergarten teacher at the Ottaquechee School for nearly 30 years, educating over 600 children in the upper valley before retiring in 2012.

Carol loved yard sales, not only for the chance to visit with people and learn their stories, but also to find great deals; she was known for her annual epic yard sales and also resold many of her treasures on eBay.  She will forever be known for her dry, yet sharp and witty sense of humor. She had many aliases over her life span such as, Lady,  Carol, Keo, Claire, Mom, but most importantly Mimi.

She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Thomas Alexander and her very best friend Leslie Wells.

She is survived by her husband of over fifty years, Al, of Wilder; daughters Leslie Kelton of White River Jct. and Nancy Bayda of NJ;  twin sons Justin Kelton of Scottsdale, AZ and Thane Kelton of La Jolla, CA; grandchildren  Madelin, Isabelle, Sarah Joy, Jake, Emma Rose, Austin, Lexie and Kaylin as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, family and friends.

A Celebration of Life party will be held on Saturday, May 11 at 3pm - 6pm at the Hotel Coolidge in downtown White River Jct., VT.
