North Springfield, VT- Carleton G. "Charlie" Murphy, Jr., 58, died Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in White River Junction, VT following a period of failing health.
Charlie was born May 8, 1963 in Prince William County, VA, a son of Carleton, Sr. and Sylvia (Coderre) Murphy. His father was in the military so their family moved around to where he was stationed. Charlie attended Windsor High School and joined the US Marine Corps in 1982. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Windsor, where he worked at Split Ball Bearing in Lebanon, NH. He worked for a time at the Veterans Affairs Campus in White River Junction, VT.
Charlie was married to Cristy LaTorre July 19, 2014 in the Jteo Baptist Church in the Philippines, they made their home in North Springfield.
He was a member of the Precision Valley Baptist Church in North Springfield. He enjoyed the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating and camping. His greatest joy was family.
Charlie is predeceased by a son Carleton G. "Choch" Murphy, III and two sisters, Lisa Jean Hill and Tammy Lee Allen.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife, Christy Murphy; two sons, Gil De Guzman and Gilson De Guzman: two daughters Chrisgil DeGuzman, Charly Ann Murphy all of North Springfield, and a brother, Timmothy Murphy of Hartland.
Calling hours will be held 4-6PM Monday, January 3, 2022 at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, followed by a funeral service at 6PM lead by Pastor Lierte Soares, Jr at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 3PM in the Hartland Village Cemetery.
