Brevard, NC – C. Spencer Stremlau, 88, died Saturday afternoon, May 4, 2019 at the Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard, NC.

He was born July 24, 1930 in Hartford, CT the son of Karl R. and Nadine B. (Clapp) Stremlau.  He graduated from West Hartford High School and then went on to further his education at the University of Maine, the Boston Institute and Marion County Community College.

Spencer worked in human services as an administrator for the Cancer Society, Heart Association, and Easter Seals for over 48 years.

He lived in White River Jct., VT for a time before moving to Riverbend Park in South Royalton, VT.  When his heath became an issue he moved to Brevard, NC to be nearer his daughter, Kimberley.

Spencer was an active member of the National Spiritual Alliance and enjoyed several hobbies including woodworking, jewelry making and collecting and making Native American crafts.

He is survived by a daughter, Kimberley Stremlau Anderson and her husband David, a son, Paul D. Stremlau and his wife Lori, three grandchildren, Brandon, Mathew and Nicholas, one great grandchild, Temperence, a sister and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at a later date in North Carolina.
