IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Byron G.
Baribeau
January 26, 1953 – November 28, 2024
Sharon, VT- Byron G. Baribeau left us unexpectedly on November 28, 2024 for an adventure into the unknown. Born on January 26, 1953 to Gordon and Marion (Tierney) Baribeau of Wilder, Byron was always an explorer who was happiest outdoors doing "dangerous stuff" and causing mischief.
He graduated from Hartford High School going on to become a Master Electrician working for a local electrical contractor before taking a position he held for 35 years with the Hartford School District as the Building and Grounds Supervisor, retiring in 2021.
Byron met and married Cilla White and eventually had two daughters, Leah and Hannah, who were always included in all the projects the family had going, from tinkering on his 1966 Austin Healey, to firewood, electrical work, either in their home or for friends, and later, after he and Cilla divorced, building and maintaing his home in Sharon. Byron was proud that these experiences gave the girls the skills to run hand tools and get themselves into, and out of, a lot of trouble.
Byron was an avid reader, amassing an impressive amount of knowledge about a whole spectrum of things. He was a dedicated friend, always ready to lend a hand, and a collector of firearms, fireworks, camping and paddling gear. Thanks to his many friends, collections, and love for British sports cars and motorcycles he also had incredible life experiences he was happy to bring you along on as he retold them whenever he got an opportunity.
Byron passed on to the girls his strong work ethic, love for the outdoors, a restless soul in need of adventure, and the belief to always leave your campsite better than you found it, a mantra he carried into his life both on and off the hiking and canoe trail. Later in life he became Grandpa BB and he was proud to pass these things on to his 4 grandchildren as well, in addition to the enticing "dangerous stuff" he was known for. Grandpa BB always had a story and at least two really cool flashlights to show off whenever he could.
Byron is survived by his daughters, Leah (Kevn) Sare and Hannah (Bradley) Castillo and four grandchildren Maximilian, William, Sheridan and Matthew as well as his brother Jeffrey (Jeannine) Baribeau.
