ASCUTNEY, VT
Bruce N. Fadden, 79, a resident of Ascutney and formerly of Windsor, passed away Monday, May 21 at his home in Ascutney.
He was born February 26, 1935 in Littleton, NH the son of Charles and Susan (Aldrich) Fadden. He received his schooling in Littleton and attended Littleton High School. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving abroad during peacetime. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Windsor. He married Arlene May Merrill in Windsor on June 21, 1975. Bruce was employed by the Town of Windsor in the Water and Sewer department for many years until his retirement in 2002.
He was a member of the Windsor American Legion Post #25 and the VFW. He was fond of doing yard work and being outdoors. He also enjoyed socializing with friends and spending time with his family. He loved his dog, Lady-Doo.
His wife passed away on August 9, 1996. He was also predeceased by two daughters, Lorraine Craig and Liza Austin, his parents and nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Marcia Runnells and her companion, Barry Tenney of Windsor, and Susan Taft and her husband, David of Windsor, one sister, Hilda Fadden of Lebanon, NH, six grandsons and several great grandchildren, including Matteson and Hannah Tenney, who he enjoyed being with and barbequing with, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 27 from 11:00 AM to Noon at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 1:00 PM in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Proctorsville. The Rev. Amanda Lape-Freeberg, Pastor of the Old South Congregational Church in Windsor will officiate.
