Obituary

Bruce Arnold Cook, age 76, of Grafton, NH and Crystal River, FL, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Dartmouth Health, surrounded by his loving family.

Bruce was born on October 29, 1946 in Hanover, NH to Everett and Dorothy (Adams) Cook. He grew up in Enfield, NH and graduated from Mascoma Valley Regional High School in 1965 and was drafted shortly thereafter.

He was stationed at what was then Fort Hood, TX where he served two years as a drill instructor. He and Sherry moved to Grafton in 1972 where they built their own home by hand and raised four children. He retired from Dartmouth Printing in 2014 after 35 years of faithful service. Bruce embraced retirement, enjoying the company of family and friends, and warm winters at their home in Florida.

An avid outdoorsman and athlete, Bruce loved the woods of New Hampshire, particularly the acres around his home in Grafton. He was a loyal and devoted family man and loved all animals, especially birds. He raised goats, horses, and pigeons (rollers) and enjoyed bicycling, riding his motorcycle, and horseback riding.

Bruce was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, and is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sherry (Dunn), their children Jennifer Bryant (Lee) of Tampa, FL, Travis Cook (Heather) of Strafford, NH, Cassandra Crosby, Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) (Retired), U.S. Army (Ryan, LTC (R), U.S. Army) of South Berwick, ME, and Kathryn Clatterbaugh (Stewart) of Fairfax Station, VA; grandchildren Sophie and Quint Bryant, Justin and Evan Cook, Chloe and Leif Crosby, and Harper and baby brother on-the-way Clatterbaugh; a sister Gayle Ibey of Plymouth, MA, and her children Ben Ibey (Erin) of North Hampton, NH and Lauren Blackburn (Ricky) of Plymouth, MA; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
