WINDSOR, VT
Brian J. Woodman, 51, formerly of Franklin, Massachusetts, passed away Monday morning, December 20, 2010 at his home in Windsor, Vermont following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born July 20, 1959 in Framingham, MA the son of Maurice and Alma (Riel) Woodman. He received his schooling in Franklin, MA where he graduated from Franklin High School. He married Judi Lamy on May 31, 1996 in Natick, MA. They moved to Windsor in 2002.
Brian worked in the newspaper printing industry his entire adult life. He launched new and effective ways that the daily news could be published; his forethought and wisdom brought innovative ways for people to communicate with each other. He was employed by the Eagle Times in Claremont, NH and most recently for the Times Argus and Rutland Herald in Barre, VT until leaving due to failing health.
Brian was loved by all who came to know him, whether in Massachusetts or in his adopted state of Vermont.
He was predeceased by his father, Maurice Woodman and his mother, Alma Conlon, and one brother, Barry Woodman.
Survivors include, his wife, Judi of Windsor and their four children, son, A.J. Fry III and his wife Natalie of Claremont, NH, daughters, Devin Woodman of Bellingham, MA, Sarah Woodman and Abigail Woodman, both of Windsor, VT, one brother, Brent Woodman of New Jersey, two sisters, Robyn Carlucci of Franklin, MA and Margo Vogel of Virginia, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor on Sunday evening, December 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 27 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor. The Rev. Rene Butler, M.S., Pastor, will be the celebrant. Committal services will be held at the convenience of his family at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the "Woodman Children's Memorial Fund" c/o Merchants Bank at 25 Ralph Lehman Drive, White River Jct., VT 05001.
