Brian A. Tuttle Sr.

White River Jct., VT – Brian A. Tuttle, Sr., 82, passed away Friday November 6, 2015 at home in White River Jct.

He was born January 11, 1933 in Barre, VT a son of Allen and Alfreda (Sweet) Tuttle. Brian attended one room schools in Cookeville and Pompanoosuc and later Hanover High School. He was married to Norma Smith November 3, 1951. They built a house in Pompanoosuc where they raised their family and lived for many years. Brian worked in various trades in the Upper Valley including farming, trucking, logging, carpentry and most often as a mechanic. He has lived in White River Jct., VT for the past thirty years. His family is particularly grateful that he was able to stay at home during recent health problems thanks to the help of his grandson Brandon and his neighbor Dave Hunt.

Brian enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and more recently enjoyed working with latch hooks. He liked to keep busy with all types of projects, and was always willing to help a friend or neighbor in need. In his younger days, Brian was a member of the White River Junction Volunteer Fire Department and spent many hours with the ambulance crew.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Roxanne Ramirez; a brother Alfred Tuttle and a sister Valroy Durkee.

He leaves his wife, Norma, of White River Jct.; four sons Brian "Mike" Tuttle, Jr. and wife Bonnie of Haverhill, NH, Anthony Tuttle and wife Brandy of Enfield, NH, Randy Tuttle and wife Dale of Rutland and Paul Tuttle and partner Lynn of Arkansas; twelve grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother William Tuttle of Thetford, VT; three sisters Alma Gray of Norwich, Allene Richardson of Concord, VT and Verlie Covey of Bradford, VT as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT Saturday November 14th from 1-3PM. A graveside service will follow in the Union Village Cemetery at 3:30PM.
