Obituary

In Loving Memory of Brad A. Underhill

White River Junction, VT — Brad A. Underhill, 49, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 27, 2025, with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. He faced his illness with remarkable strength, bravery, and grace.

Brad was born on September 1, 1976, in Lebanon, NH, the son of Gerald and Cynthia (Rogers) Underhill. He graduated from Woodstock Union High School and completed the autobody repair program at the Hartford Area Career & Technology Center in White River Junction — a program that remained meaningful to him throughout his life. He continued to support the program and serve on its board, always wanting to give back to the place that shaped his career.

Brad began his autobody career at Collision Works in Quechee before moving to Miller Auto in White River Junction. He later found his long-term work home at Kidder's Automotive in West Lebanon. It was there that he met the love of his life, Adele Rheuby. They married on August 14, 2004, in Hanover, NH, and built a life together in White River Junction.

Brad was the  heart of his family — hardworking, loyal, soft yet strong, and someone everyone knew they could rely on. He had an infectious sense of humor and a protective nature. Though never the overly emotional type, in his final months he spoke often about his love for his family. He shared that he was never afraid of dying; he was only afraid of leaving those he loved.

Brad enjoyed the simple joys that made life full: spending time at family gatherings, especially those filled with laughter and friendly competition while playing bingo for money. He loved taking walks with his wife, Adele, and treasured any time he could spend with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed cheering on the New York Giants, Boston Bruins, and Boston Red Sox, and he had a passion for all types of gambling — whether it was sports betting or casino-style games.

He was predeceased by his father, Gerald Underhill and his Nana Ramona (Polly) Schwarz; and grandparents Lance and Ruth Underhill. He is survived by his loving wife, Adele Underhill of White River Junction; his daughter, Bethany Boyle (Dylan) of Newport, NH; two cherished grandchildren, Ellianna and Jackson; his mother, Cynthia Underhill of Wilder; his mother-in-law, Shirley Clements of White River Junction; and his sisters: Candy Marchetti (Shawn) of Windsor, VT; his twin sister, Brenda Smith (Steve) of Windsor; and Jenney Blake (Rich) of Claremont, NH. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Amy Tibbits (Gene) of White River Junction; nieces and nephews — Patrick Underhill, Daniel Underhill, Brooke Smith, Brianna Blake, Nicole Meade, and Noah Tibbits — and a great-nephew, Jaxon.
