BROWNSVILLE, VT
Blanche K. Pierce, 79, a longtime resident of Brownsville, passed away Tuesday morning, September 27 at her home in Brownsville.
She was born March 31, 1932 in Jamaica, Vermont the daughter of Armentus and Gladys (Johnson) Kingsbury. She received her schooling in Rawsonville, VT, Kellyville, NH and Newport, NH. She married Edson S. Pierce in Brownsville on June 5, 1959. Her pride was raising and keeping house for the family with everything in its place including P's and Q's for the children and her husband too. She liked fine clothes which had to be just right as well as her hair before going out. She was very proud to remember the birthdays of every one of her relatives.
She was a member of the Brownsville Methodist Church for over fifty years, and a forty three year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #25 in Windsor. For many years she and her husband followed Woody and the Ramblers Country Band. Bingo was her favorite hobby and "Don't sit in her seat".
Blanche valued with love, to hear from her family, the words; Honey, Mom, Sis, Auntie, Grammie, and Great Grammie coupled with "I Love You".
She was predeceased by one grandson.
Survivors include her husband, Edson of Brownsville, one son, Royal of Ascutney, three daughters, Penny of Covington, LA, Brenda, and her husband Mike of Windsor, VT, and Melodie, and her husband Tim of Laconia, NH, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, four brothers, Harold Kingsbury of Fort Meyers, FL, Lyle Kingsbury and his wife, Helen of Claremont, NH, Melvin Kingsbury and his wife, Connie of Florida, and Edmond Kingsbury of Florida, one sister, Jennie Partlow of Claremont, NH, one sister-in-law, Patricia Barrows and her husband Stewart of Windsor, several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor on Thursday, September 29, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 30, at 1:00 PM at the Brownsville Methodist Church in Brownsville with the Rev. Cheryl D. Heater, Pastor, officiating. Committal services will follow in the Brownsville Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will follow back at the church hall.
