Lebanon, NH – Blanche Cora Lewellyn, 97, died Wednesday morning at the Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, NH. She was born July 30, 1919 in Sheldon Springs, VT the daughter of William and Ella (Grow) Ladeau.
Blanche moved to Norwich, VT in 1928 and graduated from Hanover High School class of 1938. In 1939 she married Elmer Earl Lewellyn. They made their home in Hanover, NH where they had their first child. Mr. Lewellyn was killed serving during the Korean War. Blanche remarried Albert Warren Lewellyn in 1951. They lived for a time in Norwich, VT, they then operated a small family farm in Plainfield, NH for many years. They later moved to Lebanon, NH.
Blanche loved singing in the Coral Choir during high school and later at church as a member of the Kingdom Hall in Lebanon, NH. She also enjoyed knitting, word puzzles and gardening.
Blanche is survived by five sons, Harland Lewellyn of Towanda, PA, Albert Lewellyn of White River Jct., VT, Everett Lewellyn of Wyalusing, PA, Sheldon Lewellyn of Wyalusing, PA, Jeffrey Lewellyn of Claremont, NH, three daughters, Joanne Salls of Lebanon, NH, Sharon Anne Baxter of Wayland, NY, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a brother, Alfred Homer Ladeau of Wilder, VT.
There will be a memorial service for Blanche at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 57 Daisy Hill Road, Lebanon, NH 03766 on Saturday September 3, at 2pm.
