Beverleen I. Harlow
Quechee, VT – Beverleen I. Harlow, 76, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2011, at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH after a long illness.
She was born on October 22, 1935, in Barre, VT, the daughter of Arthur and Lillian (Boardman) Turpin. She attended school in Barre. She travelled throughout the United States and abroad, while her first husband served in the US Army, before settling in West Groton, MA. While in West Groton she cared for the elderly in her home. She later moved to the Upper Valley, first for several years in Newbury, VT and later in Quechee, where she has lived since. While in Quechee she met and was later married to Ronald Harlow January 1, 1982.
She will be remembered for her thoughtful and loving care as an LNA at numerous elderly care facilities in the Upper Valley.
Before her illness she loved camping with family, playing with her dog Bear, knitting, attending craft fairs, and occasionally playing the slot machines at Mohegan Sun.
Beverleen was predeceased by her daughter Dolores Langevin in 1988.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ron, of Quechee, six daughters and their families, Dianna and Peter Dubey of Groton, MA, Donna and Ron Catania of Rocky Hill, CT, Deborah and John Cortese of South Windsor, CT, Dale Langevin of Tallahassee, FL, Denise and Warren Brooks of Essex, VT and Dorothy and Jeff Hook of Pembroke Pines, FL, as well as 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a sister Janet Davis of California and a sister-in-law Margaret McDermont of Hartford, VT
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, September 8th from 1-3PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. with a funeral service following at 3PM. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery also in White River Jct. on Friday at 11AM.
