WINDSOR, VT
Benjamin N. Brown, 84, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Tuesday evening, July 11, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in White River Jct., VT.
He was born July 20, 1932 in Claremont, NH the son of Harry and Josephine (Gowey) Brown. He received his schooling in Unity, NH. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Upon his honorable discharge in August of 1956, he returned to New Hampshire. He married Anna L. Blanchard in Windsor on August 26, 1955. Mr. Brown was employed at various garages in Claremont before moving to Windsor in 1958. He was then employed at Prevo's Gas and Propane, Valley Propane and most recently at Suburban Propane in Windsor, for a total of thirty years. He was then employed at Brown's Sales and Service for many years as an automobile detailer until December of 2016.
Ben was fond of fishing and working on race cars. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Sidney Brown, and one granddaughter, Nicole Lane.
Survivors include his wife of sixty one years, Anna L. Brown of Windsor, one son, Ralph Brown and his wife, Sandra of Brownsville, VT, two daughters, Lou-Ann Carpenter and her husband, James of Colchester, VT and Pamala Hodgdon and her husband, William of Windsor, five grandchildren, Mark Carpenter, Amanda Jasinski, Evan Russell, Jonathan Russell and Adam Piselli, five great grandchildren, Hunter Jasinski, Colt Jasinski, Chloe Lane, Amanda Piselli and Andrew Piselli, two brothers, Raymond Brown of Charlestown, NH and Stanley Brown of Little Sweden, ME, and several nieces and nephews.
At Mr. Brown's request a graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday, July 27 at 11:00 AM at the Vermont Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center.
