Beatrice Quinn White, 87, formerly of Natick, MA and Hartland VT died peacefully on March 22 at The Village at Cedar Hill in Windsor VT surrounded by her family.
Bea was born April 5, 1929 to Frank and Bridget (Murtagh) Cooper. She had a very happy childhood with her parents and siblings, working along with her family, running the Centennial Spring House Hotel and Cottages on Sabbath Day Lake, Poland Springs, ME Her family was very close to the Sabbath Day Lake Shakers, and she attended their one room school house for her elementary school years. She went on to graduate from Edward Little High School in Auburn ME and received her degree at Westbrook Jr. College in Portland ME.
Bea always loved music and singing, and while growing up performed with her father and siblings entertaining the guests in their hotel, singing in her high school choir, and performing throughout New England and Canada with her college choral group. In her later years, she continued her love of music with the Hartland Community Chorus.
She married Justin P. Quinn of Athol, MA in 1950, and raised 4 children in Natick, MA. In 1982 Bea married Francis E. White of Hartland VT and lived there happily until she moved to Cedar Hill in 2012 after his death.
Bea is survived by her children; Justin and wife Cynthia of Dunstable, MA , John and wife Beth of North Carolina, Paul and wife Dale of Franklin, MA , daughter Diane Hollyer and husband Richard Morin of W. Warren, MA, stepson Steven White and wife Judy of Concord, NH, her sister Elizabeth Begert of Ridgefield, CT , brother Harold Cooper of Walpole, MA, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to be held at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, VT in June.
