IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Ann
Wells
August 19, 1938 – May 22, 2025
Windsor, VT- Barbara Ann Wells, 86, died Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Sullivan County Health Care in Unity, New Hampshire.
Barbara was born August 19, 1938, in Rutland, VT to Homer and Stella (Dandenault) Robinson. The youngest of 11 children, she grew up in Bridgewater, VT and graduated from Woodstock High School. In 1956, she married the love of her life, Carroll Wells of Woodstock, VT. The family then moved to Windsor, VT where she raised 4 children, managed the household, and tended to their animals and her extensive garden which included more than 100 tomato plants.
A devoted wife and mother, Barbara enjoyed hunting, fishing, and jeeping with her family as well as spending Saturday nights dancing with Carroll at the Elks Lodge in Hartford, VT. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter, having made clothes for her children, a wedding dress, and award-winning quilts and cross-stitch works. After Carroll's retirement, she loved travelling in their RV, making several trips to Florida, and spending summers camping in Randolph, VT with her grandchildren. Her family will remember her strength, sense of humor, and willingness to guide, especially when it came to teaching her grandchildren needlework and about birdwatching.
She is predeceased by her parents; siblings Hilda, Harold, Richard, Maurice, Gladys, Clyde, Ursula, Robert, Paul, and Earl; her husband of 63 years Carroll; and son CJ Wells. She is survived by her son Tony (Sharon Walter) Wells of Windsor, VT; daughter Deborah (Tim) Crotts of Naples, FL; and daughter Valerie (Jodi) Davidson of Weathersfield, VT. She has seven grandchildren: Amy, Anthony, Stacey, Sarah, Krystle, Paige, and Gabbi; and two great-granddaughters, Hazel and Stella.
Barbara's family would like to thank Dr. Sullivan and the team at Valley Regional Kane Center and the staff at Sullivan County Health Care for their wonderful and compassionate care.
