Strafford, Vermont – Barbara Jean Savery, 77 died Friday morning, November 13, at her home in Strafford, VT with her family at her side. She was born August 29, 1938 in Randolph, VT the daughter of Everett and Gena (Barnaby) Moses. She grew up in Tunbridge, VT and graduated from South Royalton High School. Barbara worked first at G.W. Plastic, McKenzie Restaurant, Rich's Department Store and in October of 1977 Barbara was hired as K-Mart Shoe Department Manager, a position she held for twenty-four years before returning in 2001.

Barbara was married to Frank Savery May 6, 2001. They made their home in Strafford for the rest of her life. Barbara loved owls, word search and backgammon. She was an avid bowler. Barbara was a regular league member at the Valley Bowl in Randolph, VT. She traveled several times to bowl at national level tournaments.

Most of all Barbara loved to have company stop in at her and Frank's home. They always made you feel welcome and always had time for a visit. She was an active member of the Rebecca Lodge #28

She was predeceased by her father, Everett Moses, a daughter, Toni Kendall, two sisters, Marjorie Small and Sally Camp, and a great grandson, Aceah Murphy.

She is survived by her husband, Frank, her mother, Gena Moses, her sister Dorothy Gates, her children, Paula and Richard Smardon, Paul Green, Penny Green, Timothy Kendall, Tammy and Jay Wilson, Tina Clifton and Tracy Churchill, eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandson, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, November 22, from 2-6PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT. A graveside service will be held Monday morning, November 23, at 11AM in the Post Mills Cemetery in Post Mills, Vermont.

A gathering will be held at the Wilder Club House and Library following the graveside services.
