CHARLESTOWN, NH
Barbara E. LaCourse Johnson, 80, a former resident of Charlestown, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 11 at Cedar Hill Continuing Healthcare in Windsor.
She was born April 25, 1930 in Windsor the daughter of Lloyd and Phebe (Stillson) Strong. She received her schooling in Ascutney, Vermont. She married Joseph V. LaCourse in Windsor on November 3, 1951. Barbara did housekeeping for Windsor and Ascutney area families for several years. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, and was fond of collecting hummingbirds and bear figurines. She greatly enjoyed attending yard sales. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and attending family activities. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor. Her husband passed away on September 21, 1972.
She was also predeceased by one brother, Raymond Strong, and one great grandson, Jonathan Anzalone.
Survivors include, three daughters, Donna Putnam of Ascutney, VT, Esther LaCourse and her companion, Bob Balla of South Acworth, NH and Elizabeth Kennedy and her husband Bruce of Charlestown, NH, three sons, Richard Strong and his wife, Denise of Claremont, NH, Philip LaCourse of Woodstock, VT and Jeffrey Johnson of Charlestown, NH, one brother, Malcolm Strong of Windsor, VT, three sisters, Margaret Strong of St. Albans, VT, Lucinda Buck of Springfield, VT and Arlene Jones of Texas, five grandchildren, Alisha LaCourse of Wyoming, Krystal-Leigh Anzalone and her husband, Christopher of Claremont, Richard Strong of Claremont, Joseph Putnam of Windsor, and Charles Putnam and his wife, Lynn of Canaan, NH, six great grandchildren, Madison and Holly Putnam of Windsor, Carter and Cassidy Putnam of Woodstock, Alleigh and Caitlyn Anzalone of Claremont, several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor on Wednesday evening, July 14, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 15, at 11:00 AM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. Burial will follow in the St. Francis Cemetery in Windsor.
