Barbara Currier-Stopfer
Hartford, VT- Barbara Currier-Stopfer, 57, died Wednesday, August 31st surrounded by her family at home in Hartford.
Barbara was born March 16, 1954 a daughter of Raymond E. and Effie (Barney) Currier. She attended grammar school in Newport, NH, and later in Hartland, VT she also attended Windsor High School. Barbara worked at Hitchner Manufacturing in Littleton, NH, Pep Industries in Newport, and as a waitress at Alice's in Ascutney, VT but spent the majority of her working years in the cafeteria at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. She was married to her one true love Jesse Stopfer September 5, 2009 in Hartford.
She enjoyed working on puzzles and crosswords, crocheting and spending long summer days at the ocean, but most of all enjoyed being surrounded by her family.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Jesse Stopfer of Hartford; a son Robert Rugg of Mooresville, NC; a daughter Karen McGuire and her husband Michael of Lisbon, NH; seven grandchildren, Lindsey M. Rugg, Dominic McGuire, Damien McGuire, Deanna McGuire, Shayne Hudson, Carah Rugg and Taylor Rugg; a brother Raymond Currier Jr. and his wife Sandy of Raleigh, NC; three sisters, Betty Trombley and her husband Bill of White River Jct. VT, Diana Currier of White River Jct. and Judith Currier of Hartland, VT,; sister-in-law, Teena Stopfer of Enfield, NH; brother-in-law, Chris Stopfer of Claremont, NH; mother-in-law Dee Moore of Canaan, NH as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held from 5-8 PM Friday September 2, 2011 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10Am at the funeral home with interment following in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport, NH.
