Wilder, VT- Ashley Durand, 19, died unexpectedly Sunday June 5th in Dixville Notch, NH.

Ashley was born September 19, 1991 in Lebanon, NH the daughter of Jeffery L. and Tammy L. (Carr) Durand. She grew up in Wilder and in 2010 graduated from Hartford High School where she not only excelled academically but enjoyed participating in athletics including the varsity tennis team. For the past year Ashley has attended Arcadia University in Glenside, PA and was looking forward to being closer to home while attending Colby Sawyer in New London, NH in the fall.

She was a passionate artist that enjoyed painting and drawing and was a talented dancer including as a member of the dance troop at Arcadia University. She also enjoyed the outdoors and had taken a summer job at the Balsam's Resort in the White Mountains to be able to enjoy the great outdoors.

Ashley is survived by her parents Jeff and Tammy Durand and a brother Andy all of Wilder; her maternal grandmother Mary Carr, paternal grandparents Gordon and Nancy Durand all of Lebanon, NH; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who all loved and cherished her dearly.

Friends may call Thursday, June 9th from 5-8PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: National Institute of Mental Health, Gift Fund to support the research of depression,
