White River Jct., VT- Arthur H. Wilson, 77, died December 20, 2009 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in White River Jct., VT.
Arthur was born December 3, 1932 in Boscawen, NH, the son of Frederick and Hazel (Mac Fadden) Tingley. He graduated from Franklin High School in Franklin, MA. He served his country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Hazel Moomaw November 25, 1964. They lived in Lake Worth, FL where he was a police officer for the town. In 1977 he retired from the force and they moved to Vermont where he worked for Hanover Hardware for a time. He then went to work as assistant director of security for Rich's Department Stores.
Arthur enjoyed collecting and dealing coins, and playing golf.
He is survived by his wife of White River Jct.; a son, Michael Wilson and wife Cindy of Lake Worth, FL; two daughters, Patricia "Trisha" Wilson of Springfield, VT and Katherine "Kathy" Phelps of Hartford, VT; seven grandchildren, Michael, Nicole, Alana, Brandie, Jacob, Cody, and Trisha; three great-grandchildren, Jayme, Zakerie, and Aiden; a brother Clayton Wilson of Post Mills, VT and a sister Shirley Higgins of Lake Worth.
A celebration of his life was held Wednesday December 23, 2009 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. from 6-8PM
Interment will be in the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph Center, VT, Friday June 11, 2010 at 11:30 AM .
