Obituary

SPRINGFIELD, VT
Arline V. Fitzherbert, 77, a longtime resident of Springfield, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, June 21, at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon after heartfelt sentiments from each of her children.
She was born January 9, 1934 in Buffalo, NY the daughter of John and Edna (Wagner) Leskiw. She graduated from high school in 1952 in Angola, NY, where she was the art editor her senior year. Her yearbook is full of artwork portraying her graduating class. Arline was a longtime pen pal to Private Donald P. Fitzherbert. They were married September 17, 1955 in Eden, NY.
She was employed at Tambrands Inc. in Claremont for twenty seven years as a production operator. She enjoyed oil painting, crocheting, knitting and taught herself to play the organ. She became known in the area as the candy lady of "R's Candies" which she sold at local craft shows.
Survivors include her husband of over fifty five years, Donald P. Fitzherbert, Sr. of Springfield, one daughter, Darlene of Weathersfield, VT, four sons, Phillip B. of Loomis, CA, Dewaine R. of Springfield, Donald P. Jr. of Perkinsville, VT and Aaron J. of Weathersfield, VT, three grandchildren, Tanner J. of Ascutney, VT and Bryan and Jillian of CA, two great grandchildren, Rosiland Davis and Camden Gutzman of CA, three brothers, Gary, Tim and John, and four sisters, Audrey, Carol, Lorraine and Sharon, most of who still reside near Buffalo, NY, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held Sunday, June 26 at 2:00 PM at the Bow Baptist Church in Weathersfield Bow with Pastor Walter McDaniels, officiating. Committal services will follow in the Ascutneyville Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will follow back at the church hall.
