Windsor, VT- April Mae Tyrrell, 50, died unexpectedly August 19, 2024. She was born on March 29, 1974, in Rogers City, Michigan, the daughter of Brenda (Parris) Hoisington.

April and her mom lived in Michigan for a short time before moving to Hartland, VT where her mom soon married Lynwood Hoisington. She attended grade school in Hartland and then later Windsor High School. April married Travis Olmsted, Sr. and they had four children and later divorced. She remarried in 2001 to Patrick Tyrrell and later divorced in 2021. For the most part, she was a stay-at-home mom until her children reached school age when she went back to work in healthcare as an LNA for a short time. She was a kind, loving person. She would help anyone she could. She always wore her heart on her sleeve. April's smile was as bright and contagious as the sun. She had a silly sense of humor. She had a passion for dolphins and loved the ocean.

The last five years have been the happiest of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed helping her mom with her gardens. She loved to shop. She was finding her way on her own and doing the things she enjoyed best. She was very proud of herself for achieving the things she never thought she could on her own. She loved her job working at Mount Ascutney Hospital and later working at the Historic Homes of Runnemede in Windsor, VT as a medical technician. Most importantly, the love she had for her children and grandchildren is undeniable. She loved being a nana.

April is survived by her parents, Brenda and Lynwood Hoisington of Brownsville, VT. Her four children, Kimberly A. Robinson of Mt. Holly, VT, Hannah L. Gaw and her husband Adam of Londonderry, NH, her sons, Christopher S. Olmsted of Windsor, VT and Travis D. Olmsted, Jr. of Brattleboro, VT. Her two brothers, Jeremiah Hoisington of Hartland, VT, Carl Hoisington of Claremont, NH. And several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday September 28, 2024, at 4pm at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, VT for immediate family and friends. Condolences may be left at an online guest book at www.knightfuneralhomes.com
