North Hartland, Vermont – Annie E. Swasey, 86, died Tuesday morning, February 10, 2015 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

Annie was born June 28, 1928 in Norwich, VT the daughter of James and Louisa (Eastman) Swasey. They lived in Norwich, VT until she was eight years old when her parents moved and bought a farm in North Hartland, VT. She attended school in North Hartland and graduated from Hartford High School. Shortly after graduation she started her forty year career at New England Telephone Company in White River Jct., VT.

Annie was a dedicated employee at the phone company but her heart belonged to the family farm. She loved taking care of the animals, helping with the chores and tending to the garden.

She enjoyed walking, hiking and just being in the great outdoors. Even in her eighties she still raised much of her own vegetables.

Annie also enjoyed bowling with her sister and her friends from work on several of the local ladies bowling leagues. She was a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers, the Hartland Grange and most importantly the North Hartland Community Church.

She was predeceased by her only sister, Emma Swasey who died in 2004. She is survived by her nephew, Steven P. Swasey of North Hartland, VT as well as her many dear friends and church family members.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11 AM at the North Hartland Community Church. Her burial will be held later in the springtime in the Hartland Cemetery.
