Annie
Burke
June 30, 1957 – October 27, 2019
Annie Burke passed away peacefully on Sunday October 27th 2019 at the Jack Byrne Palliative Care Center in Lebanon, NH.
She was born June 30, 1957 in Windsor, VT a daughter of Davis and Mary (Nowlan) Burke. Annie was predeceased by an infant brother Gregory and older sister Virginia. She is survived by two sisters sisters Jean Osler, Janet Sather and her three brothers Donald, Gary and Kenneth Burke as well as nephews and nieces Bryan Osler, Allyson McElduff, Jennifer Sather, Julie Burke and Bridget Putnam, and Kirk and Brent Lantas. Annie is the youngest of Davis and Mary's children.
Annie Graduated from Windsor High School, and attended Meredith Manor , West Virginia. Annie's true passion was animals. Specifically her life's focus was on horses. She spent many years not only competing in Dressage and Cross Country events through out New England, but also training horses, and many riders. She managed several horse barns in the Brownsville area throughout her adult life, and most recently served the town of Brownsville as a Lister. Annie enjoyed skiing, and traveling with her sisters Jean and Janet to places such as Europe, visiting family California, Colorado and Arizona, and many annual trips to the coast of Maine with family. She was always bright, vibrant, cheerful and her smile would light up a room. In true Burke fashion, she spoke her mind. She loved the Brownsville community in which she called home. We are blessed to have had Annie in our lives and we will always cherish our memories of her, whether that's seeing her run equipment in the gravel pit as a kid, skiing on the slopes of Ascutney, crammed in a van touring Europe, sharing a drink in Maine, riding horses, family dinners at Windsor Station, or the many holidays spent at Davis and Mary's house on the hill overlooking Brownsville. We love you Annie.
The Burke family would like to thank the friends and family that helped Annie throughout her battle with cancer. Thank you to each one of you, it meant more to her and our family than you could possibly know.
In memory of Annie's life, we ask that donations be made to Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society, PO Box 702, Brownsville, VT 05037, or an animal shelter of your choosing.
A celebration of Annie's life will be held at a location and date to be later announced.
