Anne Taylor, 83, died Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Calvary Hospital in Bronx, NY.
She was born September 9, 1930 in Washington, DC the daughter of Gerald C. and Ruth (Turner) Gross. Being the daughter of the Secretary General of the International Telecommunications Union (part of the UN) in Geneva, she grew up all around the world, spending time in France, Switzerland, Columbia, and other parts of South America. Most recently she has resided in New York City. She was multilingual, and worked as an administrative assistant for several organizations, including several years with the United Nations.
Anne was known for her sense of humor and her generosity of spirit. She was a member of the Morningside Heights Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Manhattan, whose members went to great lengths to take care of her in her later years. She was also a member of Mensa. She loved living in New York City, and took advantage of many of its cultural offerings. She also enjoyed old movies--the more in black and white the better.
She is predeceased by her husband of 40 years, John Taylor, brother Gerald Gross, Jr., and her twin sister Barbara Shunney.
Anne leaves behind a daughter Jeannie Scheinin and her husband Thomas Johnson of Norwich, VT; two grandchildren, Alex and Misha Johnson; two half sisters and several nieces and nephews.
