Royalton, VT-Anne Beck, 64, died Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care at DHMC in Lebanon, NH. She battled with breast cancer for the past year.
Anne was a loyal participant, friend and fundraiser for the non-profit organization SafeArt, which is based in Chelsea, VT. Anne was a great out-of-the-box thinker and had great creativity. She was a prolific artist with collage being her favorite medium. She loved to re-purpose things and make them into art, for example old violins, cellos and guitars. For a number of years she and her wife Mitch have been making and selling collaged cards with quotes and exotic postage stamps. Anne loved sparkles on anything, including her hair. Anne loved being by or in any body of water and she enjoyed spending a week each August with her "sisters" at Ferry Beach in Saco, Maine. She also loved her family, spring and summer, swimming, reading, zebras, her dog Dobie and her cat Skye. She especially loved and was devoted to Mitch who reciprocated whole heartedly.
There will be a Life Celebration for Anne Beck at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Upper Valley in Norwich, VT. It will be on Saturday December 8, 2018 at 1PM. All are invited to bring something to place on a memorial altar and finger food or beverages to share after the Celebration. The one thing Anne really wanted was everyone to bring their favorite "stupid Joke" to tell at the celebration. Funny stories are welcome too! In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for help with final costs, in cash or checks made out to "Mitch Beck." If you wish to mail a donation: Mitch Beck, 478 Happy Hollow Rd. Royalton VT 05068.
